Weekly thoughts: I attribute my weight gain to the holiday season.  Needless to say, I’m going to watch my weight more this week to make sure those pounds don’t take up permanent residence.  Oh, and about that 90 second Plank (on Thursday), I was feeling quite suicidal when I did that.  After 60 seconds, I was ready to drop, but didn’t.  With 15 seconds to go, my body was ready to give out.  It was only sheer willpower keeping me from falling.  I got a Couch Potato rating on that exercise, but I don’t mind.  I’m just proud that I lasted through it.  Now that I did it, however, I won’t be trying it again for quite some time.

Weekly thoughts:  Last weekend, we had quite a big snowfall.  While I did as much shoveling as I could on Sunday, there was still more to do on Monday.  So I spent 45 minutes shoveling us out.  I decided to count this as a workout more formally than I did last week.  On Wednesday, I attempted the 10 minute Advanced Hula Hoop workout.  3,323 spins later, I could hardly stand.  I think I’ll be sticking to the 6 minute version for awhile.  I’ve also come to the realization that I’ve got to set a firmer time to workout.  Too many nights, I wait until 11:15pm and then reluctantly pull the balance board out.  I get into the workout quickly, but I need to schedule it to get me over the "do I really want to lug the balance board out/maybe I’ll just check one more thing/it’s so late now" hump.

Weekly thoughts: First of all, I’m paring this down to a weekly thoughts instead of a daily thoughts since I might not have anything significant to say about a certain day’s workout.  That said, you’ll notice that there are only 3 workouts here.  One of them (Sunday’s) was a makeup for the previous week’s skipped workout.  Wednesday and Thursday, I  wound up skipping my workouts as well.  On Wednesday, I skipped my workout due to being exhausted.  Thursday, B and her parents took NHL to see Disney On Ice.  I stayed home with JSL and was too tired afterwards to workout.

We had an extremely snowy weekend, however.  I did at least an hour of combined snow shoveling and "wintertime running with weights" (also known as pulling kids on a sled while running up and down a snowy block) on Saturday.  On Sunday, I did at least a half hour of shoveling.  So I’m counting those as my missed workouts.

Thoughts: Got two curve balls thrown at me today.  First, I was told to do my balance test with my eyes closed.  Secondly, when I began training, the male trainer substituted himself for my usual female trainer.  (A quick settings change fixed that.)  Guess that’s some built-in random events to keep you on your toes.  My wife also observed this workout so she would know how to set up and take down the WiiFit balance board.

Thursday December 11th – Week 2, Day 4

Ok, I confess that I skipped this workout.  There was an awful ice storm out and I got distracted with other matters.  By the time I decided to work out, it was late.  I decided that it was less important to exercise and more important to get sleep so I wouldn’t be exhausted while driving in the ice.  I plan on making up this workout on Sunday night.
